Lea Michele will play Princess Ariel in a live rendition of The Little Mermaid at this year’s Hollywood Bowl.

Michele, known for her role in Glee, will sing all the hits from the iconic film as it plays on the big screen.

To help recreate the story on stage, Harvey Fierstein (Ursula), Ken Page (Sebastian), Peter Gallagher (King Triton) and Leo Gallo (Prince Eric) will all join Michele.

The cast and orchestra will perform all of the famous songs from the soundtrack, including Kiss the Girl, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Under the Sea and Part of Your World.

Lindsay Lohan, who has previously said she wants to star as Ariel, seemed confused at Michele’s casting and commented on the Disney Princess Instagram announcement post: “Huh?”

The live production, which celebrates the film’s 30th anniversary, will immerse the audience with animated “living scenery” that director and co-producer Richard Kraft called a “game changer” according to People.

The performance takes place over two days during 17 and 18 May at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
