A taste of tradition
Making it her motto, the CEO of One IFC Hotel Sdn Bhd, Carmen Chua quotes, “There is no place like home.” In 2020, she brought this sentiment to life with the debut of Malaysiaku, a celebration of Malay proverbs. Since then, this unique concept has spiced up Malaysia’s five-star hotel scene, offering an innovative and localised dining experience like no other.
Inspired by this success, The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur has taken Malaysiaku to heart, serving up a delicious array of local delights every year. Therefore, under the expert guidance of their talented Executive Sous Chef, Norazizi Taslim, a team of exceptional chefs work their magic, ensuring that each dish is as memorable as the tradition itself.
The return of Malaysiaku: Culinary tales of folklores and fables
Every year, Malaysiaku takes on a fresh theme. In 2021, it was all about the magic of Malay weddings. They whipped up a six-course menu inspired by the six key rituals of Malay matrimony, turning tradition into a delightful culinary experience.
This year, Malaysiaku is diving into the world of Malaysian folklore. Drawing inspiration from beloved tales like “Puteri Santubong and Puteri Sejinjang,” “Kisah Itik Bertelur Emas,” “Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup,” and “Kisah Tiga Ekor Kambing,” they’re celebrating Malaysia’s rich heritage with dishes that tell a story.
