Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre got married on Friday, 26 April, during a three-day celebration in Marrakesh.
The couple exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in front of family and friends, reports British Vogue. While the bride wore two custom dresses, both by Vera Wang, Elba chose a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng with Asprey black and white diamond cufflinks. The celebrations are set to continue today with an all-white party at the Mandarin Oriental.
Elba left broken hearts across the nation when he proposed to Dhowre in 2018. In a romantic gesture, the actor got down on one knee during a screening of his directorial debut, Yardie, at the Rio Cinema in London.
The pair have been dating since March 2017 after meeting on the set of The Mountain Between Us. Elba has been married twice before and previously ruled out a third nuptials, telling Essence magazine: “Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.”
But it seems the model and former Miss Vancouver has stolen the actor’s heart.
