Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Move To Africa Is Apparently A “Likely Scenario”

  • The news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are considering a move to Africa broke while the royal family attended an Easter Sunday church service on the Queen’s 93rd birthday yesterday.
  • The royal correspondent Rebecca English of the Daily Mail is now reporting that Meghan and Harry’s trip is apparently in the “brainstorming stages.”
  • A source reportedly English, “It’s more likely to involve them going somewhere for a couple of months, rather than moving somewhere.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s potential move to Africa is starting to look more realistic after royal reporter Rebecca English provided further details from a source with knowledge of the couple’s plans.

To recap, over the weekend, The Sunday Times reported that Meghan and Harry could leave England in the not-too-distant future. In the article, Meghan and Harry were described as “rock stars” within the royal family, with royal reporters Tim Shipman and Roya Nikkhah revealing, “Courtiers have drawn up plans to hand the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a major international job that could see them moving abroad after the birth of their child.”

And now, Rebecca English has reported in the Daily Mail that, rather than moving to Africa full-time, it’s more likely that Meghan and Harry will have a six-month “secondment,” per a source. While the short-term move is only allegedly in the “brainstorming” stages, Harry and Meghan’s extended stay in Africa is apparently becoming a “likely scenario.”

English also writes that “the idea of a foreign sabbatical is something Harry has wanted to pursue for many years, focusing on issues around conservation, the environment and education.”

English’s source stressed, “At the moment, this is very speculative. There haven’t been formal conversations with anyone from Commonwealth countries or governments.” The source continued, “but his team are starting to scope out a long-term planning strategy for the Sussexes and there is a good chance this is a scenario that could work.”
