Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding Invitations Are Even More Beautiful Than You Expected

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially started sending out their wedding invites. Kensington Palace announced this morning that the invitations “have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales” (AKA the groom’s father, Prince Charles).

Official guests to the royal wedding can expect to receive this gorgeous invite in the mail, crafted by Barnard and Westwood, a fine printing company that has traditionally made wedding invitations for the royal family since 1985. They feature an elegant script and the three-feathered badge of the Prince of Wales in gold ink.

The cards ask recipients to attend the couple’s May 19 wedding ceremony at St. George’s Chapel and the following lunchtime reception, which will be hosted by the Queen, Kensington Palace revealed. About 600 guests have been invited to this daytime fête, per The Daily Express‘ royal reporter, Richard Palmer.

However, later that day, there will also be an evening reception at Frogmore House hosted by Prince Charles, according to the palace. Around 200 people have been invited to that celebration.

Kensington Palace also shed light on one of the artisans crafting the invitations. Here’s Lottie Small printing the letters on a machine from the 1930s:

The invites consist of American ink on an English card, likely referencing California-born Markle’s relationship to the British prince.

Can’t wait to receive one of these in the mail!
