Backyard getaway… NoMo SoHo has a beautiful garden and bar. It’s a bit hidden but when you walk into the entryway, it’s almost like you’re being transported from the city to a green oasis. Conveniently located in SoHo and close to Chinatown, Little Italy and the West Village, rooms here are small but the location makes it worthwhile.

Stepping into a different world… Hudson Clearwater is a hidden gem. The façade of the restaurant is like one of New York’s speakeasies. The open kitchen here gives a glimpse into the fantastic food that they are producing. Lolita is the perfect drink to start the weekend with: gin, aperol and prosecco with grapefruit and lemon.

Signature experiences… The collections at The Met are absolute must-sees; the architecture of the Whitney Museum is a work of art by itself and quite possibly upstaged only by the art within it. Central Park is beautiful in all four seasons of the year and offers a broad range of activities.  My favourite is to take a walk around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, a 1.5 mile loop that offers unbelievable views of the east and west sides of the city, and is conveniently located adjacent to The Met.

Dining musts… Secchu Yokota in East Village is one of the best tempura restaurants in the city. Serving only eight guests at one go, a hostess, a waiter and two chefs are all you need for a memorable dinner. Dinners here are quite unpredictable as it is based on the freshest ingredients available.

New York City is… all about the boroughs that make up this metropolis that’s buzzing with electric energy. Besides Manhattan, there are world-class museums, unique cultural events and restaurants in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx too. What makes New York great for me is the diversity built by smaller communities from the outer boroughs.
