What are the most important elements in a home?
Space, light, and good design that reflect your personality. My apartment is furnished with a mix of travertine marble and Macassar ebony timber floors. For the bathrooms, I’ve chosen beautiful Calacatta Viola marble. An eclectic collection of furniture is scattered around the glamorous space, which comprises of custom designed items, Asian antiques, and contemporary artworks.
Who would you most like to work with?
I love Peter Marino for his clever detailing and lavish use of materials. He designs many retail outlets for Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton. Working with him on designing a hotel is a dream!

What helps to brighten up a room instantly?
Mirrors. The use of mirrors in a room instantly adds a sparkle, reflecting light to make a space look bigger. I use it to clad entire walls for a “wow” effect. If this is too ambitious, just hanging a beautifully framed mirror on the wall can also open up a space.
Where do you find inspiration?
I grew up in Kuala Lumpur and lived in a low-slung bungalow-style home in Kenny Hills. It was very modernist, with lots of light, large living spaces, and terrazzo flooring. Subconsciously, I am inspired by this style of living and have always adapted my projects to modernism in architecture.
