Tucked away in a modest shop lot in the hustle and bustle of Petaling Street is oriental speakeasy, PS150 which has quickly grown into a popular drinking spot for Kuala Lumpur’s cool urban crowd. The cocktails at PS150 draw out the best of Southeast Asian flavours through their use of local ingredients fused into their scrumptious cocktails. It then comes as no surprise to hear of PS150’s newest project: a series of pop-up bars to be held in four international properties under the acclaimed hospitality giant, YTL.
“Celebrating our heritage has always been a shared value between YTL Hotels and PS150. We’re excited to introduce Malaysian flavours, textures and styles,” muses PS150 co-founder, Tan Boon Wy. A match made in heaven indeed – both collaborators are experts in creating unique experiences to best showcase Malaysia.
Each pop-up will run for just two exciting nights, beginning in Niseko Village in Japan from the 26th of February to the 1st of March before finding its way back to our shores for an installment at the Majestic Malacca on the 15th and 16th of March. The journey ends with two pop-ups in the UK, the first on the 7th of March at Wheeler’s Bar in Threadneedles Hotel and finally, Alchemy Bar at The Academy on the 9th of March where the project draws to a close. PS150 will be featuring cocktails that will incorporate tastes of its location through the ingredients: for example, Takeshi’s Cooler in Niseko Village and Malt & Juniper in the UK.
