Breakups are never easy. No matter who initiates the split, going through the motions—sulking on the couch, eating pints and pints of ice cream, and listening to Adele albums—is inevitable. Then, as Vanessa Hudgens showed last night at the Bad Boys for Life Hollywood premiere, there’s the reverse.
It’s been only a day since the news of Hudgens’s split with her actor boyfriend, Austin Butler, hit the media waves, but she is sparing no time in showing the world that she is living her best life. Evidence: The 31-year-old stepped out in an attention-grabbing, asymmetrical white dress from Georges Hobeika’s fall 2019 couture collection. It featured a gauzy, flowing skirt; a feathered sleeve that starts on the collar; more feathers on the waistline; and, for good measure, a crystal-adorned bodice. To say it was a whole lot of look is putting it lightly. Factor in her over-the-top poses, and Hudgens had a full-blown showgirl moment.

How the ensemble fits in at a screening for the third installment of the Bad Boys film franchise is unclear—especially since the rest of the cast arrived in rather tame outfits. What is seemingly apparent is the tremendous effort she is exerting to show that she has moved on. And we don’t blame her. She’s been with the guy for nearly a decade after all.
If anything, going the route of revenge dressing trumps being a couch potato.
