This is a big year for Italian label Gucci. The luxury brand turns 100 and so far, we’ve seen some spectacular fashion moments that celebrate this huge milestone.

First, we saw the digital ‘Aria’ runway show last April, where a surprise collaboration of sorts took place between Creative Director Alessandro Michele and Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia. Mixing codes from both prestigious houses, new statement pieces were conceived from existing lines such as the Balenciaga-emblazoned Jackie 1961 bag and knee-high ‘knife’ boots decked with Gucci’s ‘Flora’ print; it was exciting!

Next, the brand introduced its first High Watchmaking collection, featuring models spread across four distinct families. And now, we are treated to yet another inside glimpse at the world of Gucci with the new Gucci Garden Archetypes Exhibition, which brings 15 past Gucci campaigns to life within its walls in Florence, Italy. This immersive multimedia experience explores and celebrates the House’s creative vision and features mythical ark builders, intergalactic explorers, horses, dancers, angels, and aliens under Alessandro Michele’s kaleidoscopic vision since his tenure in 2015.

“I thought it was interesting to accompany people in these first six years of adventure, inviting them to cross the imaginary, the narrative, the unexpected, the glitter. So, I created a playground of emotions that are the same as in the campaigns, because they are the most explicit journey into my imagery,” – Alessandro Michele

The great news is that a virtual tour is available online, so even if we’re not encouraged to leave our homes right now, the exhibition serves as a great source of art inspiration and hope to return to the outside world normally one day. Gucci once again partners with the global online platform Roblox to bring this digital tour to life.
