What are your plans and goals for 2023?
I work really hard and have spent 8 years trying to break into the film industry. Finally, I feel that I’ve achieved my dreams, and I can’t wait to work on more projects this year. The best part is that there were some doubts from my friends and family members, but I can say now that “I made it.” My motto is, “To work, and work, and work. No pain no gain.”
If you could choose a leading lady to be your co-star, who would it be and why?
I know the obvious answer we all want to hear but let me just shout out to the great Ellie Suriaty’s cameo in Mat Kilau, which was magnificent. I’d be honoured and very much fortunate to have her as a scene partner, maybe as the Norman to her Norma perhaps?
What was your childhood like?
I’d prefer to say it was filled with hardships or it was bathed in luxury. But I would say that I had a pretty normal childhood. I had good friends, a supportive family, and some childhood heartbreaks. So yea, A pretty normal childhood. In school I was really active in sports, I played rugby and football.
Most memorable moment? Most memorable person? Why?
There are many, but there is one particular moment that changed my life. My manager brought me to my first audition while she was heavily pregnant. She got me my big break, and if it wasn’t for her persistent character I wouldn’t get all the opportunities I have today.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
This advice has stuck with me for some time. “If it’s easy, it’s worthless.” So maybe, this is why I always put in the hard work and dedication to everything that I do
Who inspires you and why?
My father inspires me. He was a former professional footballer, I admire the discipline and work ethic he had, and still has now. It is undeniably inspiring to have such a dedicated father.
