Bottega Veneta Salon 02

Our favourite looks from Bottega Veneta Salon 02.

Following their secret presentation in London for Salon 01, Bottega Veneta hosted another private show at Berlin's Berghain nightclub for Salon 02. The Autumn/Winter '21 collection is a celebration of resplendent looks filled with elements of whimsy—cue colourful ostrich plumes and balloon-like pieces woven together to mimic the House's signature intrecciato weaves. Playful as they were, exaggerated volumes stole the show, along with exuberant displays of texture: from cozy fringed shearlings to buttery leather that's been developed to look like high-shine latex to decadent embellishments ... every piece tugged and teased at the heart (and eyes) with glee.

But playful whimsies aside, Daniel Lee remained faithful to the core aesthetic he's moulded since his tenure at Bottega Veneta. In true form, everyday dressing is elevated and stretched to perfection by way of intricate details that speak in hushed yet confident voices. Pieces to note include stunning dresses with glass embroidery as well as dresses emblazoned with crystals that sparkled and ostrich feathers that danced and floated. Sensuality is not missed with "peek-a-boo" styles that provoke and awaken the senses. It's obvious that craftsmanship and excellence takes precedence. Having said that, imagination did not take a backseat, fuelling the collection to greater heights.
