Fendi x Tiffany & Co. Baguette bag in sterling silver.

The Fendi Baguette turned 25 recently and to celebrate, the Italian House held a spectacular show in New York City. As befitting a celebration, a host of A-list celebrities were spotted front row including none other than Sarah Jessica Parker. Taking it one step further, Fendi also joined forces with numerous brands to pay homage to the iconic bag created by Silvia Venturini Fendi. And when news of the Fendi x Tiffany & Co. Baguette bag was revealed, it created a frenzy worldwide.

Since the collaboration, Fendi has taken it one step further with Tiffany & Co. to create a Fendi Baguette bag entirely in sterling silver. The exclusive bag was created through the Fendi Baguette "hand in hand" initiative in partnership with Tiffany "Makers". Handcrafted by artisans at the famed Tiffany & Co. hollowware workshop in Rhode Island, the bag was created over a period of four months and features engraved lilies and roses.

The bag marks the beginning of Fendi's "hand in hand" initiative and is the first to originate outside of Italy. A showcase of exquisite craftsmanship, the project shines a light on the time-honoured skills of artisans whose talent and know-how continue Fendi's long history of reimagining the bag's iconic shape. In this instance, the legacy and craftsmanship of Tiffany & Co. flourish magnificently.

To create the bag, the form is crafted to specific size and shape, while the floral embellishments are chased—an age-old silversmithing technique—by hand into the sterling silver.  Although shapes are usually formed out of silver before details are added, the sterling silver Tiffany Baguette was crafted around the floral design. And at 5.2 pounds, the final result is truly impeccable.
