Held on 14 September 2023, the renowned designer is all set to take the US fashion industry by storm with her highly-anticipated debut at DOORS in New York City’s trendy Soho West Broadway area.
Taken from a statement, Alia shares, “I am thrilled to be launching my brand in the US, and I can’t wait to share my vision with a new audience. My designs are inspired by the rich archipelago of Asia and Malaysia with our many gorgeous islands and beaches, and I hope to bring a unique perspective to the fashion world.”
The launch event showcased Bastamam’s latest collections, including Odyssey Act I for the current Fall/Winter 2023/24 season and Odyssey Act II for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 season, featuring stunning pieces that highlight her signature designs and use of luxurious fabrics with intricate finishes.
Even top Malaysian models Tuti Noor and Nia Atasha walked the runway, who strutted with beats mixed by Malaysian female DJ duo BrownRice.
