Cartier embraces the golden age of cinema
Known for her roles in Super 8, Maleficent, and The Beguiled, actress Elle Fanning has just been announced as Cartier’s newest global ambassador. The actress will also be the new face of the Grain de Café collection.
To mark the beginning of their partnership, Fanning wore the Grain de Café diamond necklace and ring in 18k yellow and white gold to the 2023 Met Gala. The Grain de Café collection was first launched in 1938 by legendary Creative Director Jeanne Toussaint. It became an iconic piece of jewellery in the 1950s when the newly-crowned Princess Grace of Monaco wore adopted the collection. Since then, the collection has had an aura of glamour and sophistication.
“To embody the beauty, heritage and sense of sunlight captured within the Grain de Café collection, we selected Elle Fanning for her talent, determination and range, which have allowed her to take on a variety of roles in the world of cinema. As our new Global Ambassador, she brings a luminous on-screen presence to the Grain de Café collection and campaign that recalls its most famous wearer, Princess Grace of Monaco,” said Arnaud Carrez, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer.
Everything you need to know about the Grain de Café collection:
The shimmering diamonds and gold that the collection possesses are reminiscent of the Riviera sun and bathes its wearer in the same warm glow. Studded with diamonds or rubellite, it takes the pure shape of a coffee bean.
“The Grain de Café collection embodies so much of what makes Cartier’s style and savoir-faire unique; from exquisite goldwork to the precious transformation of an everyday object,” said Elle Fanning. She adds: “It is an honour to become the face of a creation that brings together elegance, glamour and radiant femininity.”
It’s only natural that Elle Fanning would be chosen to become the face of this upcoming campaign inspired by the personality and talent of Grace Kelly – inextricably linked to the French Riviera and the golden age of cinema.
