A Beautiful Marriage Of Two Metals, The New White Rolesor Versions Of The Iconic Oyster Perpetual Datejust Are Simply Irresistible
When Rolex rolled out the new white Rolesor models of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 in September of last year, diehard fans around the world rejoiced. Defined by a meeting of two metals, four white Rolesor versions were unveiled, each design a combination of the brand’s signature Oystersteel and 18 carat white gold.
Our favourite is easily the first of the pack, with its alluring aubergine dial in sunray finish. Formed from a solid block of Oystersteel, married with the elegance of 18 carat white gold forming a bezel that is further accentuated by a ring of 46 brilliant-cut diamonds, this particular Datejust 31 expresses just enough bling and sophistication to follow you through from day to evening with no fuss.
True to form, the hands and Roman numeral hour markers are also set in liquid-like 18 carat white gold, with the addition of the number VI also dressed in diamonds for a touch of whimsy. Virtually scratchproof sapphire crystal protects the face, complemented by a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock to better view the date window.
Beauty and strength makes for a formidable combination too. The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 can withstand water depth up to 100 meters, courtesy of the screw-down caseback and Twinlock winding crown, fitted with a double waterproofness system.
Each new version of the Datejust 31 is powered by the Calibre 2236, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. The aubergine model is stylised with the Oyster bracelet design, featuring polished centre links and satin-finished outer links with polished edges.
Though the aubergine is a gorgeous colour, the remaining three of the new white Rolesor models are equally seductive, made up of the Datejust 31 with a mint green sunray-finish dial with Jubilee bracelet, a white lacquer dial with Oyster bracelet, and a dark grey dial with Jubilee bracelet—all featuring a fluted 18 carat white gold bezel. So which of these speak to your personality more?
