Early last month, Bulgari unveiled its latest high jewellery and high-end watches collection at the Italian Embassy in Paris, an exclusive affair made all the more glamorous by the appearance of brand ambassadors Anne Hathaway, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Lisa of Blackpink, not forgetting friend of the brand, Carla Bruni, all decked out in stunning high jewellery pieces from the maison’s vault.
The new collection, Bulgari Eden The Garden of Wonders, presents over 140 jaw-dropping masterpieces, in extravagant designs inspired by the most extraordinary wonders of nature. This is after all Bulgari, thus each meticulously crafted piece is at once majestic and, dare we say it?, simply divine. True testaments to the maison’s long-standing affinity and mastery with exquisite gemstones.
Even more exciting, for the very first time Bulgari has produced over 30 creations dedicated to the magnificent emerald. The pièce de résistance? The aptly named Emerald Glory, a transformable piece that can be worn as both a necklace or a tiara, with detachable choker to boot. Taking more than 3000 hours to produce, the resplendent piece is made to imitate the softness of lace, albeit one that adorned with 11 pear-shaped Colombian emeralds surrounded by a cascade of diamonds, totaling over 220 carats in all. The necklace can be seen caressing the neck of brand ambassador Zendaya in the maison’s recently launched Unexpected Wonders ad campaign.
Naturally, no Bulgari collection is complete without an homage or two to its signature serpent. A symbol of metamorphosis, the serpent inspired the Serpenti Spinel Embrace necklace, the embodiment of a serpent in pink gold and diamonds caressing a whopping 25,70-carat drop-shaped pink spinel from Tajikistan. Not to be outdone, the Serpenti Ocean Treasure features two snakes fusing into one, forming a platinum and diamond necklace with a twisting movement that holds an exceptional 61,30-carat drop-shaped Sri Lankan sapphire.
The Bulgari Eden The Garden of Wonders is available now and following its launch in Paris, the collection was then displayed at the Bulgari boutique in Place Vendome for all to see. Also displayed in the new showroom (designed by no other than Peter Marino) was Bulgari’s very first NFT jewel, Beyond Wonder, presented along with the NFT artworks Magnifica Ruby Metamorphasis and the Emerald Glory necklaces.
