This Lunar New Year, the world of horology puts art on our wrists with beautiful Year of the Rabbit watches that pay tribute to the Chinese zodiac's luckiest creature.
L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Rabbit Limited Edition, Chopard
What is already a tradition at Chopard, this year’s Chinese New Year watch comes in the form of a slender L.U.C XP case that houses an equally slim L.U.C 96.17-L in-house movement. Although impressive from a technical perspective, it’s the picturesque dial that has us in awe. The dial portrays two rabbits—one grey, the other red—frolicking under a full moon in a field of Chinese olive trees. Generally, it takes a Japanese artisan no less than 160 hours to produce this artistic dial. The dial comprises Urushi lacquer, gold powder and mother-of-pearl inlays. On the other hand, the 39.5 mm case of the L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Rabbit watch is made from ethical 18 karat rose gold. This beautiful watch has a 65-hour power reserve and is.limited to only 88 pieces,
Don't miss out on other Year of the Rabbit watches including a special TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph. Or the rather cheeky collab between Franck Muller and Tokyo-based streetwear #FR2 that you shouldn't miss! And check out other Lunar New Year 2023 features here.
