This Lunar New Year, the world of horology puts art on our wrists with beautiful Year of the Rabbit watches that pay tribute to the Chinese zodiac's luckiest creature.
Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac – Year of the Rabbit, Vacheron Constantin
Vacheron Constantin finds inspiration in Jianzhi, the Chinese art of paper-cutting for this year’s Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac models. The Maison’s master artisans interpret this art on gold dials, etching reliefs that recall Chinese iconography. Furthermore, depth and dimension come by way of Grand Feu enamelling, an ancestral technique requiring years of skilled experience. A wonder to behold, this limited series presents two iterations—a platinum case with a platinum rabbit, or an 18 karat 5N pink gold case with a pink gold rabbit. However, each design is limited to only 9 pieces. The case measures 40 mm and is fitted with alligator leather straps in dark blue or dark brown. Each watch is powered by the Calibre 2460 G4 with approximately 40-hour power reserve. Also, each watch is water resistant to 30 metres.
Don't miss out on other Year of the Rabbit watches including a special TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph. Or the rather cheeky collab between Franck Muller and Tokyo-based streetwear #FR2 that you shouldn't miss! And check out other Lunar New Year 2023 features here.
