Chanel’s le19M Fosters Dialogue on Métiers d’Art in Shanghai

Where a century of Chanel’s most exquisite craft traditions meets the electric pulse of contemporary Shanghai, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.

In Shanghai, Chanel and le19M’s latest Métiers d’Art cultural program manages to conjure heritage and spirit in all its complexity with craftsmanship. Plating up a full-bodied curation of fashion and decoration Métiers d’Art, their newest exhibition—la Galerie du 19M Shanghai—follows a narrative principle of introducing unique savoir faire within Chanel’s creative universe and bridging the gap between the French Métiers d’art with the dynamism of today’s Chinese artisanal and cultural landscape. Embedded with passion, transmission, innovation and generosity, the exhibition, just like its predecessor, will foster a dialogue about iconic creations and savoir-faire.

Everything you need to know about Chanel and le19M’s Métiers d’Art cultural program:

Stretched across the third floor of the Museum of Art Pudong, the playful, sensorial and inspiring exhibition is a fitting introduction and celebration of the centenary of the Lesage embroidery and weaving House. From intricate techniques to featherwork and more, the exhibition presents a captivating display of craftsmanship—through hands-on workshops and interactive activities—that spans a century of savoir-faire, from its founding in 1924 to the novelty embroideries and tweeds made by Lesage for the House.
