Attention all book lovers! Aesop Malaysia will be introducing The Aesop Women’s Library across three of its stores in Malaysia.

Widely known for its sensual yet opulent scents, Aesop is here to ignite your day with tales written by Malaysian women authors. The Women’s Library is an inaugural project to support and showcase the voices and stories of women across the globe. Only this time, the project arrives in Malaysia, conquering three signature stores from 26 to 28 May and 2 to 4 June 2023.

Here, you will delve into an experience like no other. The signature products that used to fill the shelves of every Aesop store will now be replaced with books written by talented Malaysian women authors. The library features over 20 titles, including short stories, novels, and poetry. Additionally, Aesop has purchased over 6,000 volumes to support local independent publishers and booksellers. The selection of books is curated by six collaborating publishing houses, namely Lit Books, Clarity Publishing, Cite Book Garden, Gerak Budaya Kuala Lumpur, Penwings Publishing, and Buku Fixi.

Notably, the library features the works of four writers: Viji Krishnamoorthy, Leong Ching Foon, Hanna Alkaf, and Alina Rastan.

Which Aesop store can I visit in Malaysia?

Throughout these two weekends, avid readers and Aesop fans will have the liberty to visit three Aesop stores – Aesop Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Aesop The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur and Aesop Gurney Plaza, Penang – and take home one complimentary book of choice. The best part? No purchase is required.

That’s not all. The Women’s Library also joins forces with the literary podcast ‘Two Book Nerds Talking’. Founded by two Malaysian girls, Honey and Diana, the podcast dives deep into their love for books and thoughts on their latest reads.

Hit play and uncover their thoughts on the books featured along with Aesop’s local initiative. In addition, the three-episode podcast is the perfect opportunity for readers to learn about the few key authors as they will discuss their journey to becoming a writer.
