As we get ready for the weekend, the BAZAAR team pulls together our favourite Netflix picks. From mystery-murder to sci-fi and old English action, you'll be spoiled with choices. Here are our picks:
STRANGER THINGS Casts: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Sci-Fi
Aisha says:
“On the cusp of becoming a veritable cult icon, Millie Bobby Brown playing the psychokinetic character named Eleven might be enough to make anyone transfixed with Stranger Things. And yet, the number of reasons to become addicted mounts higher: nostalgically retro ’80s pop culture, the perfect balance of childlike sensitivity, and science fiction-horror, the darkness of a parallel netherworld, and a stellar cast that includes Winona Ryder and a group of extremely likeable kids. Perhaps what makes Stranger Things so powerfully charming is that it is incredibly uncanny (in the Freudian sense). For all the supernatural events that occur, it all seems believable and familiar, especially when one thinks of how strange living in the uncertainty of the Cold War might have been. I can’t wait to see what next season holds.”
