For most of us, our image of Stephen Hawking is punctuated by not only his intellect, but his wheelchair and computer-generated voice. The Theory of Everything reminds us that Hawking wasn’t born with motor neurone disease – he was once a young Cambridge student spinning around with his new girlfriend and later wife, Jane.
