The 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival has arrived and the showcase of the world's greatest film talent won't be one to disappoint. In spirit of the opening, here are some of the films we can expect to succeed at the award season later on in the year.

Parasite

From Bong Joon-ho, the director of Netflix favourite Okja comes a new film: a dark thriller titled Parasite where a young man becomes a private tutor and finds himself getting too entangled with another family. The South Korean filmmaker investigates class and generational differences in his native Korea. Slated to firmly show at this year’s festival, we hope there will be no more impending issues between the filmmaker and streaming giant Netflix such as last year which led to Bong Joon-ho being absent at Cannes.
