Grab a slice or two.

It’s the simple pleasures of life. Who could have imagined that throwing three essential ingredients of flour, yeast, and water would establish a dish that is loved by many? It shows that sometimes, the most amazing things in life come from the simplest ingredients, which is why pizza has quickly become a go-to dish for many food connoisseurs.

Nestled in the heart of Chinatown is your destination for delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas.

Introducing Good News Pizza.

Located along Jalan Petaling, it’s easy to spot the restaurant, thanks to its signage – spot the smiley face, and you’re already there. Merging a relaxing yet vibrant dining ambience, the establishment curates a wholesome menu filled with delicious pizzas, excellent organic wine, and craft beer curation.

Upon arriving, you’ll need to climb a flight of stairs to reach your destination, but trust us; it will be worth it.

Good News Pizza has a cosy and welcoming ambience featuring a modern-meets-1960s-inspired interior design. You can’t miss the bright neon signs that add a pop of sunset colours above the kitchen area, also where the chefs prepare your scrumptious meals to perfection.

Led by Executive Chef Meg Lee, their signature pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven, where every bite boasts a smoky aroma and puffy crust. Their menu is outstandingly complete, with everything you need to satisfy your tastebuds. From their signature wood-fired pizzas to small plates and pasta, you are definitely in for a treat.

Perfect for catch-up sessions with your loved ones, our adventure at Good News Pizza was everything and more. We started our journey by ordering their signature small plates to kickstart our evening.

We ordered the Pizza Crust Puff (RM16), Crispy Squid Head (RM26), and the Chicken (RM26). As a quick snack, we enjoyed the Crispy Squid Head, which was perfectly fried and beautifully seasoned. The house aioli dip complemented the squid perfectly. The easy-to-eat Pizza Crust Puff was fluffy and indulgent, and it was served with a delicious dragon fruit salsa and a house cheese dip. The chicken tenders were also a memorable snack, as each bite was juicy, flavourful, and paired perfectly with the house aioli sauce.

The star of the show? Their wood-fired pizzas. Let’s just say they were out of this world. We ordered the Funghi (RM52), Agnello (RM42) and Borneo (RM36).

Our favourite was the Borneo and Agnello. The Agnello, topped with smoked lamb bacon, mozzarella, smoked provola, pecorino romano, zucchini, and red onion, and smeared with aubergine spread with extra virgin olive oil, was a burst of flavours with its mouth-watering ingredients. Additionally, their aubergine spread definitely makes for a perfect pairing on a pizza.

Their signature dish, “Borneo”, is a culinary adventure featuring diverse flavours of Malaysia. The restaurant uses carefully selected locally sourced ingredients, such as Kulim oil and Sarawak black pepper, to add unique and robust flavours.

Dedicated to pasta lovers, be sure to try their Sardinia pasta and Puttonesca pasta. For the curious, their Sardinia pasta comes with fregola, smoked duck breast, mixed mushrooms, garlic, chilli flakes and pecorino romano. Meanwhile, their Puttonesca pasta is cooked with anchovies, capers, olives, herbs, and pecorino romano. Equally delicious and wholesome, these two dishes make a flavourful addition to the table if you’re looking for something filling and satisfying.

After every meal, your journey wouldn’t be complete without a plate of indulgence – and we’re talking about desserts. For something light yet fulfilling, we’d suggest their Chocolate Caramel Panna Cotta for a sweet finish with lemon whipped cream, caramel, berries compote and topped with pecan nuts.

For sharing, go ahead and try their Pizzette. Staying true to its signature dishes, the Pizzette is a sweet alternative to your savoury pizza selections. However, the dessert pizza is replaced with ricotta cream, berries compote and blueberries instead of your go-to smoked beef bacon or black truffle cream.
