Go Inside The Charming French Apartment Of This Insta Star

Sabina Socol has that baby Bardot look down—but this Parisian girl isn’t just about effortless style, she’s a true social strategist with 101K followers on the ‘gram and engagement through the roof. Formerly a social media editor at a major French mag, Socol has recently gone out on her own—but has kept the steady stream of light dappled selfies in casual, cool dresses, pretty tops and basket bags in hand coming. True to her feed’s vibe of chic simplicity, Socol goes for the opposite of that ultimate millennial trap of try-hard on Insta. When asked to explain her social strategy the word that comes to mind is, “Honest.”

“I only want to post when I’m comfortable and what I’m comfortable with. I love film photography so I post that a lot, and I like posting looks too, but always in a natural, no fake ‘no pose,’ way… I believe people can tell when something is fake, I don’t like that.”

BAZAAR recently visited her charming Paris apartment to talk personal style, interiors inspo (hint: there’s a vintage theme that runs throughout her wardrobe and home) and who she’s following now.

How would you describe your personal style?

I think my personal style is mostly very feminine. I don’t like being overdressed, so it’s pretty basic, but almost always with a (kind of) sexy twist, like a deep V neck or high heels. I also like to mix it up with strong vintage pieces sometimes.

Do you consider it uniquely French? Why or why not?

It’s definitely inspired by my environment, which has always been French. Not all French women have the same style, of course, but I believe there’s a certain trademark of the French woman, which sometimes is a little bit cliché, that is “effortless” (in Paris it means trying without showing you tried).

How does your apartment décor reflect your style?

It reflects it because it’s very (maybe too much?) vintage, and I’m a huge vintage collector! I love very specific vintage garments, labeled or not, and I have the same inspirations for my apartment. I mostly only own vintage furniture (danish ‘50s, a lot of that) and I’ve been trying to get some designer stuff too. But I’m not completely satisfied with my décor yet, there are still some changes and adds I want to do.

Favorite thing in your apartment?

I tend to collect stuff. So I think my favorite things right now are my ceramics from this French brand called Astier de Villate. I have a few vases and plates, and I don’t want to stop there quite yet! I also got this white ‘70’s Artemide lamp for my birthday from my friends, that I adore. I would like to purchase a black marble Knoll side table to put it in evidence on. And my Kai Kristiansen chairs that I’ve been dreaming about for months and finally got. There are quite a few things actually!

3 Beauty products you can’t live without?

The Dior Life Line for skincare is a must for me right now. I also use the Dior Lip Balm or the Glossier Generation G lipstick in Jam for my everyday look, and my perfume Tam Dao by Diptyque. I never go out without wearing it.

Go-to look for a night out?

A flower print dress or a 70’s inspired one piece, with heels, a mini bag and a red lip.

Go-to look for weekend day?

I’m super into this slip silk dress from Anine Bing that I got recently, and I love wearing it with flat sandals during the weekend. With a straw bag.

What’s one thing you’ll be buying/bought for summer to update your wardrobe?

I’m very into clogs! I saw a super high pair at Vanessa Seward that I’d like to get to give a 70’s vibe to my summer dresses and one-pieces.
