Margot Robbie has talked about what she’ll bring to the forthcoming Barbie film, following news she’s been cast as the iconic doll.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to put some positivity out in the world and a chance to be aspirational for younger kids,” she told Variety.
She previously told the magazine: “Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiosity and communication throughout a child’s journey to self-discovery. Over the brand’s almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president.”
Gerwig directed her first feature film in 2018 with Oscar-nominated Lady Bird. The movie secured two Golden Globes for both Best Picture and Best Actress in recognition of Saoirse Ronan’s performance.
