Six Runway Inspired Halloween Costumes to Try This Year

Fashion Week and Halloween have a lot more in common than you think. Indeed, during both occasions, people dress in their wildest and wackiest and you can’t really judge them. (Just another thing we learned from Mean Girls?) So what better place to snag some inspiration than the runways themselves? From Chanel robots to Moschino paper dolls, this season the catwalk was filled with costume ideas.

Chanel Robot

Chanel’s spring runway looked to the future with its data center theme. The opening models? Two very chic robots. Channel a Lagerfeld droid by donning a classic tweed suit with your favorite robot mask (or stormtrooper head).

Americana never looked so good. Dust off your cowboy boots, grab your best bolo tie, and saddle up à la Ralph Lauren.

Alexander McQueen Princess

Be the Scottish princess you were born to be. Alexander McQueen’s spring 2017 collection looked to the Highlands, a glorious mix of royalty and warrior woven into each gown. *Xena scream*

Dior Fencer

Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut at Dior wasn’t just about the feminist tees. The designer infused her collection with the female strength of graceful fencers; simple, clean, hearts on their sleeves (or shirts). Touché.

YSL Prom Queen

Allow YSL’s Anthony Vaccarello to turn you into the ’80s prom queen of your dreams. Leather minis, sweetheart necklines, and poofy shoulders. If only high school could really be so cool.

Moschino Paper Doll

Jeremy Scott may have picked up some slack for his Moschino capsule collection, but there’s no arguing about his paper dolls: they were full-on fabulous. Go Gigi with some 3D accessories and an over-the-top evening look finished off with white tape.
