Harper’s Bazaar hosted its 2017 Women of the Year Awards last night – a tribute to the brilliant achievements of women around the world.
From Carey Mulligan’s emotional speech to Victoria Beckham’s relatable appreciation for Suranne Jones of Dr Foster, it was a night where outstanding actresses, artists, writers, models, designers, directors and musicians came together to celebrate one another.
Kate Winslet – who won Best British Actress – perhaps described it best.
“It could not be more perfect that we’re here tonight celebrating women,” she said in her acceptance speech. “And what a great room to be in, filled with so many remarkable talents and achievements. So Harper’s Bazaar, thank you for including me tonight and for celebrating confidence and achievements, and for embracing creativity and freedom of expression. I think we’re all looking forward to a future that had the potential to be bolder and brighter than ever before, for all women standing together with great unity and pride.”
