Set in 18th century France, the prestige of a noble house is primarily determined by the quality of what’s on the table. Gastronomy is still a privilege of the aristocracy during the outset of the French Revolution. When the Duke of Chamfort dismisses the excellent chef Manceron, he loses his appetite for cooking. Back at his rural estate, his encounter with the enigmatic Louise helps him get back on his feet. While both are seeking vengeance on the Duke, they decide to open the first restaurant in France.
