If you didn’t already know, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are plenty of organisations pulling out all the stops to create meaningful initiatives in order to raise attention to this important cause. On our end, we’ve partnered with BEAST KL on a charity afternoon tea set where 20% of all proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA). Additionally, there is a good deal of hotels hosting Pink October tea sessions as well. However, if you’re looking for other alternatives to channel your support to, check these out.
Bowerhaus Pink Ribbon
In aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond, the Australian jewellery brand has teamed up with the Know Your Lemons Foundation to help spread awareness of early detection. It offers a Pink Ribbon brooch and d.d Collective scarf duo set, priced at RM80, where proceeds will be used to help 2,000 women in Sarawak gain knowledge of the 12 symptoms of breast cancer.
BONIA B-Pink Campaign
To celebrate this purposeful month, homegrown luxury goods brand, BONIA has curated a capsule collection called B-Pink, consisting of selected pink-hued bags, shoes and accessories, where 10 per cent of each item sold will be donated to the BCWAM to support public education on breast health issues. Through this campaign, BONIA aims to donate a minimum of RM10,000. The collection is available in stores until the end of October.
ALIA B x Dhan Illiani
ALIA B continues its annual philanthropic initiative to support the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) for Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in support of Children’s Home of Hope at NCSM, this year.
“Thanks to the encouraging response of the past collaborations, we’ve decided to make this a platform for artists. We have such an inspiring pool of young artists in Malaysia, but I specifically wanted this to be a platform for young female artists because, for me, the messages from young women seem like a whisper when really they’re loud and clear – I want that for them,” Alia shares. Working with up-and-coming artist Dhan Illiani, the collab titled ‘Sincerely, Adik’ envisions her view on the word adik as an all-encompassing, ageless and endearing term that Malaysians use. There are two items available – the printed oversized T-shirt, RM99 and sweatshirt, RM189. The collab is available exclusively on alia-b.com.
