Chrissy Teigen is no stranger to telling it like it is on social media. Whether she’s tweeting to criticise Thomas Markle or getting into a row with vegetarians, she isn’t afraid to speak what’s on her mind. And now, the model is using the platform to share the realities of her post-baby body and her “new normal”.
She wrote: “’How do you eat like this??’ – basically I am 20 pounds heavier than I was before miles. He’s 10 months old, I never lost the last bit because I just love food too much. Just coming to terms with my new normal, when I had this certain number for so long!”

The model also opened up about postpartum depression, as she wrote in a twitter thread: “the thinnest I’ve ever been was right after Luna. Postpartum depression. I’LL TAKE THESE POUNDS AND THIS FEELING!”
This isn’t the first time Teigen has opened up publicly about the less positive sides of motherhood. Last month she took to Instagram to share one of her “toughest” days with Luna. She explained to her 23.5 million followers on her story: “For everyone that’s like ‘omg my ovaries are exploding when I see your kids, omg so cute I need a baby right now!’ We don’t Instagram everything, okay? We don’t.”
The model also shared a video of herself in a bikini last summer, where she showed off what she described as her “Mum bod” and explained that she wanted to remind people what “regular ol’ bodies look like”, rather than what we usually see on Instagram.

Instagram is crazy. I think it’s awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ol’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing

Kudos to Teigen for being so open and honest about the realities of motherhood.
