3. Hotel St. George, Helsinki, Finland
With an impressive art collection that rivals the world’s top art hotels, Hotel St. George has become one of Helsinki’s most-anticipated openings this year.

Ai Wei Wei’s Tianwu is part of the hotel’s bold art collection
As part of a curated art programme, the property houses 300 art pieces, including a unique, not-to-be-missed Ai Weiwei sculpture in the form of a polycephalic dragon entitled Tianwu. Originally designed by renowned architect Onni Tarjanne and once home to the Finnish Literature Society, the seven-storey hotel breathes a contemporary spirit through classic fittings from Vitra, ClassiCon and Sibast.

Minimalists may find themselves gravitating to the Monocle Shop within the hotel’s grocery store, St. George Bakery, while others can spend peaceful mornings at Wintergarden, a glass-roofed inner courtyard that mimics an 18th-century conservatory.
