Dominique Ansel, the man behind the invention of Cronut (both word and item) – a worldwide phenomenon that transformed the way we see a doughnut – or a croissant forever has (finally!) made his way to London.

What’s on the menu? His signature playful desserts such as the Cookie shot (think chocolate chip cup and creamy whole milk) and Frozen S’more – luscious ice cream coated with brownie and encapsulated within a cloud of marshmallow torched to perfection.

On the other hand, what’s a Dominique Ansel bakery without something new? Put your hands together and welcome the new UK-exclusive flavour, the Banoffee Paella – an upside-down Banoffee pie made in a paella pan with gorgeous caramelised bananas and a light dulce de leche mousse.

Ansel believes that there is much to explore in Britain, in terms of creative talent and ingredients. “In Japan, there is so much talent – even the most junior chefs have been in the kitchen for at least 15 years. But in Britain you get talent from all of Europe. It’s got the charm of Paris, the history and culture – plus the energy you find in New York.” Ansel recently said in a statement to Telegraph.
