Spring/Summer ’15 wish list?
An ethereal, white lace dress from Nina Ricci for a night out, white flatform sandals from See by Chloé, and Dipped Row’s Alexandra Amethyst cuffs for a versatile yet unique accoutrement.
Favourite shows?
Balenciaga, Chloé, and Lanvin. I love Lanvin’s sleek Grecian dresses in white and navy, cinched in at the waist with beautiful statement jewellery adorning the neck. It’s a relaxed form of elegance, which really speaks to me. I also adore the slouchy suit looks with relaxed silk trousers that speak of cool nonchalance.
A look you’ll be working?
Alexander Wang at Balenciaga offers a modern take on cocktail dressing, which is right on point. His black jumpsuit with embellished pockets is precisely tailored and exudes sporty luxe. I would wear it with Dipped Row’s Geometric Ear Cuffs and a stack of Zohan bangles on one wrist as well as strappy Valentino sandals.
Signature style?
Relaxed, feminine silhouettes such as bias-cut tailored trousers, diaphanous dresses, and slender jackets – I love clothes that provide greater movement and flow. Pieces in silk jersey work particularly well in our humid weather.
Jewellery you’re buying now?
I’m sourcing for some great pieces from Istanbul and I have played a hand in designing jewellery for our new collection, which is really exciting. Some of these pieces are the Thebes Crusted cuff and ring, and the Skull and Stone bracelet made from volcanic stones. We’ve also started introducing finer accessories to complement our signature statement pieces. Favourites include ear cuffs and ear jackets – edgy yet versatile enough to be everyday pieces.
How will you wear the ear cuffs?
With a relaxed, white tuxedo jacket, black silk trousers, and my hair in a tight ponytail.
City that inspires you?
Istanbul, where I live with my husband. It’s a heady, vibrant, and chaotic city, but there’s an amazing energy that is second to none. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived.
