During the recent premiere of The Eternals in Los Angeles, the Watermelon Sugar singer was spotted in the post-credit scene as the character of Eros, causing an instant buzz on the internet once word got out. This is confirmed by the Senior Film Writer of Variety, Matt Donnelly, who tweeted out the surprise after watching the film.

For those unfamiliar with the comic, Eros is an ‘Eternal’ and the brother of the Avenger’s number one enemy, Thanos. Named after the God of Love in Greek Mythology, his personal traits include being a womaniser who loves life, romance and adventure. According to Marvel, Eros is born with the power of temptation and influence over others’ emotions.

Although there’s no official word from Marvel itself, fans of the One Direction singer are in a state of frenzy from this news. The pop star is currently touring in the United States.

After One Direction, Harry Styles went on to become a solo artist and actor. The film Dunkirk directed by Christopher Nolan in 2017 marks his debut on the silver screen. Next year, he will appear in the film Don’t Worry Darling, starring alongside Florence Pugh and Chris Pine, directed by his real-life girlfriend, Olivia Wilde. He will also appear as the leading man in Amazon’s romantic comedy My Policeman alongside Emma Corrin, also slated to release in 2022.

The Eternals is directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao and will line up big names such as Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek.
