This year, the Artycapucines Collection returns with six leading contemporary artists— Gregor Hildebrandt, Donna Huanca, Huang Yuxing, Vik Muniz, Paola Pivi and Zeng Fanzhi—who will “bring their unique visions” to the timeless Capucines bag. Paola Pivi
Complex and wild, Paola Pivi’s intricate Artycapucines is a labour-intensive work of art that echoes the innovative prowess of Louis Vuitton’s artisanal expertise. The leopard is embroidered and overprinted to create a realistic image. Meanwhile, the cups and saucers are inserted piece by piece using porcelain-like patent leather and gold-coloured lambskin—gilded with gold leaf—to finish the motif. Safari-inspired pockets on the front complete the aesthetic.
