Since her recruitment as Tommy Hilfiger’s global ambassador starting with the brand’s Autumn ’24 campaign, JISOO has been continuing her diverse activities by interpreting the brand’s identity with her own unique sense of style.
Now she appears in a special pictorial produced by Harper’s BAZAAR, Titled ‘Perfect Day,’ this pictorial exquisitely blends two concepts: the Tommy Hilfiger Spring ’26 collection set against the backdrop of a sun-drenched mansion, and the Summer ’26 collection capturing a relaxed mood on a sandy beach. JISOO led the entire shoot with her signature elegant yet comfortable aura, as if savouring the leisure of a languid afternoon. Her delicate facial expressions perfectly captured the warmth of the season, evoking the theme of a ‘perfect day’ with a sense of sophistication.

In our interview, she candidly shared her experiences traversing various domains, from her working as a musician and member of BLACKPINK to her career as a solo artist and actress.

Harper’s BAZAAR: As of the interview date, you’ve just wrapped up the 7-month Deadline world tour and are about to make a comeback with your third mini album. How was this tour with the members?

JISOO: “Is it really over? Why did it end so fast?” Since it was a world tour after three years, the ending didn’t feel real. We had so much to talk about after reuniting after a long time! Even on the flight back to Korea a few days ago, whenever one of us tried to sleep despite the jet lag, the others would wake them up saying “We need to talk!” (laughs) We also shared downloaded videos and watched them together. There was never a dull moment—it was just fun the whole time.

HB: Since all four members had been doing solo activities before reuniting for this tour, were there any noticeable changes?

JISOO: We’ve always been girls with strong personalities since young, so each person’s individuality remained the same. Rather than the individuals changing, it was the stage that felt fresh. After each of us had released albums with our own distinct colour, it felt like each stage combined together to add more to see. Watching the members perform their solo stages during practice and rehearsals felt surprisingly new. I thought, “Our concert is pretty rich, isn’t it?” (laughs)

HB: I remember the pre-released EDM-based track “JUMP” being performed at the Seoul concert at the start of the tour. Is there a word that came to mind first when you listened to the recently released title track “GO”?

JISOO: Scale. Through this song, I felt like we all grew one step together. Before, the priority was enjoying the challenge of an unfamiliar genre, but this time it carries the meaning of leaping somewhere forward. When I heard the finished music, ten years of our journey flashed by like a montage.

Cardigan; shirt; denim trousers; and sneakers, all Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: It was a song that completely broke expectations, similar to “JUMP”.

JISOO: If “JUMP” has a quirky, primal feel, “GO” has a strong futuristic feeling. I felt a sense of the four of us coming together and moving grandly forward, and I think BLINKs will love it since it suits the current BLACKPINK image well. The music video shoot also had a different atmosphere than usual. Before, it felt like we were performing, but this time the focus was on showing an evolved world together with CG.

HB: There were also many moments during the tour when you worked with Tommy Hilfiger as an ambassador. The custom outfit you wore at the New York concert last summer was especially memorable.

JISOO: It was an argyle pattern two-piece! I remember loving it so much and thinking about when I’d get to wear it. Since it was the first collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger at a concert in New York, it was a symbolic outfit. I think I pushed myself to perform perfectly with the mindset of “I cannot allow a single mistake!” (laughs)

HB: Over the past year, we’ve been able to see various sides of Jisoo as a fashion icon—the looks during your solo album promotions, the various outfits worn during the BLACKPINK tour, and the styling as a brand muse. Do you tend to make intuitive decisions about styles that suit you?

JISOO: I often deliberate deeply between “should I go with this or that?”, but ultimately the enjoyment of the entire process of building my image is great. Especially when preparing the solo album Amortage, I think I prepared it with a lot of joy. Once a concept is decided, I try to show a new image I haven’t done before while also judging what style suits me best—it’s the process of finding a middle ground.

Top; midi skirt; sweater (draped over the shoulders; and slides, all Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: How would you define your preferred style?

JISOO: The fit that works for me is most important. I’m bold on stage but prefer comfortable outfits in everyday life—I don’t really wear oversized clothes or hoodies. I also have a ton of shoes. From high heels to boots. Come to think of it, I think I like quite a varied range of styles. (laughs)

HB: Today’s shoot also featured Tommy Hilfiger looks you can enjoy in everyday life.

JISOO: I love the bright, positive energy that the Tommy Hilfiger brand has. Both the brand and I pursue a healthy image—we’re going in the same direction. So when I wear the clothes, I want to convey that feeling as much as possible. It makes me smile more. Today too, I feel like I laughed a lot shooting after a long time.

HB: You’re about to appear in the Netflix series Monthly Boyfriend as webtoon PD “Mirae”. Unlike your previous works like Newtopia, which featured zombies, or Omniscient Reader, which dealt with an apocalypse, what was it like to become Mirae—an office worker so caught up in reality she doesn’t even have time to date?

JISOO: It was my first time playing a character who could realistically exist somewhere in the real world. I think I empathised with the character of Mirae by approaching it as if I were listening to the worries of a friend my age. Thinking about what advice I’d give if Mirae were my friend helped me focus even better.

Sleeveless top; trousers; and leather slides, all Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: Were there any new realisations on set?

JISOO: In previous genre productions, there were many times when we’d spend quite a long time filming a single scene. This time it was the opposite—we often shot quickly and efficiently, so we needed to be in sync. The cast got together often and became really close. It was so much fun! During breaks, we’d also talk about things like “What do you think you’d do in this situation?”—discussing the characters’ actual dilemmas.

HB: Before the interview, I opened the JISOO app for the first time in a while. You created it to communicate with fans when you started your solo activities last year. There were various emojis marked on the calendar—does that mean more solo activities are coming?

JISOO: In February, I marked it to signify the first anniversary of Amortage being released last year, and in March I left a note meaning it’s the third anniversary of releasing my first single ME with the song “Flower”. (laughs) I also have ambitions for a full-length album. Rather than preparing under a tight schedule, I want to take my time and prepare it carefully with attention to detail.

Denim dress, Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: We’ve also been able to see various facets of Jisoo as a vocalist. The single “EYES CLOSED” with former One Direction member Zayn Malik, released a few months ago, even charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

JISOO: The process of aligning opinions with Zayn went smoothly. I felt that collaborating with a musician with a distinct colour is different. It was really cool. (laughs) Since Zayn has a wide vocal range, it turned out to be most harmonious when I sang in a lower register. It might seem like a different direction from my existing songs, but I thought about how to make a strong impact.

HB: Many people feel that Jisoo’s vocals are distinctive. What do you think about your own voice?

JISOO: I think I have a unique voice. While doing solo activities, there were moments when I realised that using a lot of falsetto isn’t bad at all. I think I’m in the process of continuously exploring my own voice.

Vest; and trousers, both Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: If you were to pick the most meaningful moment among the achievements during your solo activities, what would it be?

JISOO: The fact that people resonated with songs I love. That in itself felt like a proud moment as a musician. Over the past year, I established a company, produced an album, and there were many parts I decided entirely on my own—from music broadcasts to promotions. There are regrets and things I wish I’d done differently, but it was enjoyable. I realised that you can just dive into anything head-on. Of course, I agonise a lot between the music the public expects and the songs I’m drawn to. There are things I can do at different times, so I wanted to fill the album with music I’m satisfied with when I listen to it. Sharing my favourite songs is most important to me. I think that might be my colour.

HB: What has this year of standing on your own left behind for Jisoo as a person?

JISOO: It feels like I’ve become an adult. (laughs) Not a confidence that I can do anything, but rather learning that I can’t stop just because I’m scared in the face of a new challenge. I think it can be seen as a kind of growth.

Dress; slides; and striped bucket bag, all Tommy Hilfiger.

HB: When was the most recent time you felt truly satisfied?

JISOO: After successfully wrapping up the 7-month tour, the break felt distinctly different. It was like giving myself an award. Sometimes even when resting I feel anxious—wondering if I’ve been too lazy. I think I was able to rest completely and be fully happy. It felt like “I’m allowed to rest today!” without any guilt. That feeling was pretty good.

HB: It sounds like a day of cherishing yourself. You once left a letter to fans saying “This year, let’s express love more often.” What did you mean by that?

JISOO: I don’t think there’s any need to hold back on expressing love. I’m someone who expresses a lot. In everyday life, I like to clearly express to the people around me—“thank you, I’m sorry, I like you, I love you”—and I hope the other person truly feels those emotions. Life seems less fun without that. So I want BLINKs to express more too. I want to send the message: “Let’s all express ourselves more! Say that you love each other!”
