The passion-fuelled city where the art world meets yearly is surrounded by art, architecture, and theatres, making it a unique cultural hub with France, Switzerland and Germany. Art Basel, began in 1970 and has garnered a respectable following in the modern contemporary art scene. A shiny platform wherein masters and emerging artists show their work, Art Basel has 8 sectors that bring together curated projects, site-specific experiential work, film and many other interesting pieces. The 8 sectors are Galleries, Feature, Statements, Edition, Unlimited, Parcours, Film and Magazines.

FRIEZE ART FAIR LONDON

October 14 – October 17

The Frieze Art Fair London, just like the Frieze New York, focuses on living artists. The fair curates film projects, artist commissions, and talks. Most of them are interactive or performative, cheering on visitors to connect with art and its artists. Located at Regents Park, London, Frieze Art Fair is the most lively art fair around, that hires Universal Design Studio to design its fair every year with a brief that basically sums up imaginative and exciting.

ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH

December 3 – December 6

The sandy beaches of Miami brimming with Art Deco architecture, dazzling nightlife, and contemporary galleries are home to the celebrated Art Basel Miami. Masters of modern art and rising stars come together to showcase paintings, installations, photographs, films and performance art. ‘Galleries’ – over 200 galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa & Asia converge in the name of art on Miami Beach; ‘Nova’ – is a special section for galleries with 3 or less artists showcasing new works of art created within the last 3 years; ‘Positions’ – the perfect section for emerging talent spotting; ‘Editions’ – collaborations between publishers and renowned artists show exhibit their work in this sector; ‘Kabinett’ – Selected artists from the ‘Galleries’ sector are chosen to showcase their work here, curated under a specific concept; ‘Public’ – this spot is for outdoor sculptures and performances; ‘Survey’ – is all about projects that represent art history; ‘Film’ – short films about and by artists;  and ‘Magazines’ – publishers present their art magazines from around the world in single-magazine stands, making up the 9 sectors of Art Basel Miami Beach.
