The LOEWE Foundation has announced the 30 finalists up for its 2022 Craft Prize. This award seeks to acknowledge artisans that contribute to the growth of contemporary craftsmanship. “Craft is the essence of LOEWE. As a house, we are about craft in the purest sense of the word. That is where our modernity lies, and it will always be relevant,” stated Creative Director John Anderson. This year’s artists drawn from 15 countries have showcased their artistry across different mediums from leather to woodwork, ceramics, textiles, glass and metal, just to name a few.
Among the finalised works are applied art items, such as pottery, delicate jewellery, monumental sculpture, and glassware creations.

The winning entry is a 50,000 Euro prize to support their future works. Meanwhile, Anderson is among the 13-leading jury tasked to select the Craft Prize winner. Through this foundation, LOEWE reaffirms its commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and culture.
