From your experience, what are some of the things one should do to prepare themselves before the jab?

“Get a full proper rest the night before, drink loads of water and eat a few hours before your appointment. I didn’t fast on the day I got my vaccination because I read that if you’re nervous, it’ll trigger gastritis so I didn’t want to risk that. I also worked out the day before because I read that exercising activates the immune system. Make sure you clear your schedule for 48 hours post-vaccination just in case you develop severe symptoms.”

How did it feel for you afterwards – 12, 24, and 48 hours after?

“After the first hour I got my AstraZeneca vaccination, I was feeling fine. Just sore on my left arm where they injected it. Then around 10 pm, I felt really sleepy and lethargic. Fortunately, I had a good sleep compared to some of my friends, but I noticed my body becoming slightly warm as the day went on. I definitely wasn’t feeling my 100 percent best for the first 24 hours. Then after 48 hours, I felt normal again. I was fortunate to have mild symptoms and perhaps it’s because I listened to my body and prioritised resting. I literally did nothing for two days.”
